SportsReach Netball League 2018/19

After a two week break for half term, the netball resumed with some great and close matches on the 7th November.  Lions and Flames served up a cracking game with it going right to the wire with Flames being just too hot for the Lions and winning it with the last goal of the game.  Roses kept up their 100% record in division three with a good win over a battling STY:LE team.  Babybelles and Sparkles, two of the youngest teams in the league contested a game that was closer than the score suggests, with the shooters for Babybelles being that bit more clinical.  Harriers found the form that saw them soar to the top of division three last season as they narrowly overcame Bluebelles.  Swallows outshone Rubies who fell to their first defeat of the season, though they are still top of division two ahead of Swallows who moved up into second.  Royals are beginning to get back into gear after a slow start to the season for them as they saw off Stingwrays to move into fourth in division one, and Mantawrays hit top spot in division one with a comprehensive win over MereCats!

At the half way point various messages were shared.  It is great to see the teams gathering and listening as the messages are shared and we pray that many are challenged to think seriously about life and also the hope that we find in Jesus.  One message encouraged people to think of various times in their lives – a time of achievement or a proud moment, a time of embarrassment and a time of shame.  We fondly remember some moments but maybe try to forget others!  Whatever we have done in life, we can be forgiven if we come to Jesus.  He will forgive and wipe the shame away if we truly look to Him and receive Him as Saviour.
