SportsReach Netball League 2017/18

With the frost still affecting the surface at Ripley, it was a very hurried re-scheduling of matches to Lancaster and Morecambe college. Thank you to them for fitting us in at such short notice.  It was a very cold night but fine and it meant that no one stood still for too long! 🙂

Six matches took place with six messages being shared as the teams gathered at the mid point of the evening.  One of the messages shared the ‘Four points’

  1. God loves us.‘For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.’
  2. We have all fallen short – got it wrong.‘All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.’
  3. Jesus died in our place‘But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.’
  4. What is our response?‘Then what should I do with Jesus?’

Two very close matches took place in division three with Sparkles shining that little bit brighter as they beat Halos 15 – 14 and Amazons overcame Babybelles 17 – 15 to move up into 3rd place in the division.

In division two it has all become very, very close at the top!  MereCats took on previously unbeaten Jets and triumphed 33 – 22 to move to the top with all the top three teams being on the same number of points – 22! It promises to be a great fight between MereCats, Jets and Rubies for who wins division two.  Another close game saw Panthers record their second win in a row overcoming Roses by the tightest of margins 24 – 23 to move above them in the table.

Division one and Mantawrays continued their winning ways following up last weeks triumph over Royals with a win over Swallows, 25 – 7.  Royals sadly couldn’t field a team and had to forfeit their game with Diamonds 30 – 0.  In the Chipping derby, WildCats overcame a very resilient TopCats who sadly through different situations out of their control took to the court with only 5 players. To their credit they stuck close with WildCats for two quarters but then the extra two players began to tell and WildCats pulled away to win 34 – 11 and keep up the pressure on Diamonds at the top of division one.
