SportsReach Netball League – 9/03/16
We were blessed again with another fine night for our games at Ripley. It makes it so much easier for when we share the messages and for the games as well. 🙂 As one message was shared, we were shown a family heirloom – a book which had been written between 1902 ands 1910 by a Grandmother. The book contained messages written to her Granddaughter, photos and drawings, advice for life and verses from the bible. At the end of the book was a letter written for the girls 9th birthday. The Grandmother was sharing what had been given as birthday gifts for the girl but expressed that the best gift she had been given was a bible from her Grandpa. She encourages the 9 year old child to read the bible for herself and to build her life on Jesus. The Grandmother shared how goodness and mercy had followed her all the days of her life because she had built on Jesus. This wasn’t just a message for the Granddaughter but is a message for us all today.
“For no-one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have – Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11
The final league game of this season and Capernwray Panthers managed to come out on top in a close run game with Lancaster Roses. The rest of the games were cup matches with the winners progressing to the Cup and the ‘second place’ teams going into the Plate competition. Next week sees a few qualifying rounds and the start of the quarter finals.
