SportsReach Netball League 2017/18
The netball league was back in full swing this last week with matches on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings as we played catch up with fixtures that had fallen foul of the weather before Christmas. Everyone seemed to be quickly back up to speed and not suffering the after effects of too many mince pies etc over the Christmas period.
We were reminded of the simplicity of the gospel in one of the messages and how we need to come to Jesus simply, as a little child would. ‘Jesus called a little child to Him and put the child among them. Then He said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.”‘
On the netball front several teams picked up where they left off before the break. Lions, who had performed heroically in their last game, claimed their first win and will look to build on the confidence that will bring to take forward into the rest of their matches this season. Jets, picked up 2 vital wins, one each evening, with one being against close rivals Rubies to move slowly away at the top of division two. MereCats won their game to keep within touching distance though any slip up by either team could see a gap begin to open up. Eaglewrays also won a couple of matches to close to within 2 points of STY:LE who had stretched out a lead whilst Eaglewrays had had a couple of weeks without matches. WildCats won their game in hand to draw level on points with Diamonds at the top of division one. Goal difference is all that is separating these two teams still with 100% records.
