SportsReach 2 – 9 Pilanges

Our final match and the weary legs and tired minds showed as we were outplayed by a very strong side and went 5 goals down in a very short space of time!  Every credit to the players though as we re-organised and began to stem the tide and give them a game with our goals coming from George Whitaker and Dan Tyrer.  The team showed that even in defeat we have victory through Christ and they shone for Him on that field using every last ounce of energy on a very hard pitch in sweltering heat and as a result the opposition again stood to listen to the message afterwards as John spoke powerfully.

From a football point of view it was not the most successful of tours – probably on a par with England’s showing in the World Cup BUT from a spiritual point of view, many have heard the gospel and received literature, new friendships have been made, old friendships deepened, invitations to return have been warmly given to us along with a couple of teams keen to travel to the UK.  Roll on 2015!
