SportsReach Ladies Tour October 2015
The ladies tour started with a game against Tauernhof students on the Saturday afternoon only a couple of hours after the team arrived in Austria! Hotfoot from the airport and up to Rhormoos to take on the students on a glorious sunny afternoon in the Austrian mountains.
After a brief message from Will encouraging us to meet Jesus, spend time with Him and then introduce others to Him, the game kicked off. The ladies team consisting of Zoe Kersley, Sue Marsden, Jen Marsden, Ruth Marsden, Sarah Marsden, Vicky Perry, Annie Scmidtt, Lizzie Hyde, Charlotte Hyde (Lara and Luca Tz arrived later in the day) were supplemented with Will Marsden, Stefan Breuniger, Jackson Hollis, Caleb and Gregor, played a mixed team of students ably captained by Tanja!
The hours of practise the students had been putting in soon paid off as they took the lead and cruised into a 4-1 lead by half time. The second half was a different story however, as SportsReach began to gel and flowing football followed and the gap in the score line soon reduced to 4-3. The game was now very open with the students hitting the bar and SportsReach hitting the post twice in seconds. A few more goals followed as SportsReach won the second half 4-2 but the students triumphed overall 6-5. It was a great start to the tour as the game was competitive, yet very fair and friendly. Back to Tauernhof for a well earned tea provided by the amazing kitchen staff. Looking forward to an amazing week ahead and to seeing what God will do.
