SportsReach 4 – 3 Mitterberg

Tuesday evening saw SportsReach head to Mitterberg.  This is a team we have had a great relationship with for many years and they actually came and visited us in England a few years ago.  The welcome was again very warm and friendly with several players who had visited us in England coming along to watch the game and to see us.  Fritz had the pitch looking immaculate!  After the game Sooty shared testimony with Graham bringing a message.  Good and long conversations followed with encouragements being shared from seed sown over the years.  We pray on that more will read the literature we give and take on board what we share and find Jesus as Saviour.

After a big game against Schladming the night before, legs were understandably a little heavy!  Our German striker Nico had returned home and we replaced him with our secret weapon – Graham!  The Mitterberg team has improved over the year and the game was a tight close knit affair with us eventually taking the lead and then scoring a second.  An unlucky bobble saw a handball harshly punished by our German ref and Mitterberg scored from the resulting penalty!  2 – 1 at half time.  We started the second half very quickly and soon doubled our tally to lead 4 – 1, however Mitterberg rallied and scored twice to bring it to 4 – 3 and to an exciting climax!  SportsReach team was Sooty, Jonny Halsey, Caleb Cousins, James Heron, Mark Hill, Craig Ferguson, Will Marsden, Joel Law, Brandon Charlebois, Bill Gibbons and Graham Stamford!  Joel scored another hat trick, his second of the tour with Bill chipping in with a goal.
