Sunday morning saw us head over to Gibles to play 7 a side against a team we have played every year we have been to France. It was a very hot morning with the temperature reaching the low 30’s with no cloud cover at all! A slow start saw Gibles take an early lead from which we never recovered and at half time they led 8 – 3. We made it our goal to win the second half and with some great play and effort on a very hard and bobbly pitch we pulled it back to 8 – 7 with a gargantuan performance from John Gorst leading the way, only to concede and lose 12 – 8. (We did win the second half 5 – 4 though!!)
After the game Nic Hyde shared his testimony and a great sharing time followed as over snacks and pop they reminisced about their visit to Capernwray, England 4 years ago.
