The third round of fixtures took place this weekend, again with lots of goals being scored.

Fulwood took on Loko, with plenty of goals being scored in a very close game. The first half started off as fairly even with Loko’s early goal, in the 13th minute, coming as a surprise. The goal then spurred Fulwood into life, dominating the rest of the first half, with Adam McLoughlin grabbing two goals in 10 minutes, in the 17th minute and then the 26th minute. Five minutes later, Fulwood grabbed a third through Jamie Bryson, making it 3-1 at half time. Loko came back into it in the second half, a tactial change making a big difference. Graeme Beaumont prescense paid off, grabbing a goal in the 85 minute, making an uncomfortable last five minutes for Fulwood. However, they were able to hold off the Loko pressure to record the win, their second of the season.

Quernmore headed to Lancaster, hoping to record their first win of the season. The first half was a close game, with Quernmore causing Lancaster problems and not letting the settle into their rhythm. However, Lancaster struck first, with Michael White curling an effort into the top right corner from the edge of the box, with the keeper able to do very little. Quernmore, however, grew into the half more and more, bringing themselves back on terms in the 30th minute, Daniel Smith getting it for Quernmore. Lancaster unsettled, Quernmore pushed for a second, Smith nearly scoring from 40 yards, seeing the goalkeeper of his line. However, it was Lancaster who struck next, Joe Pickles latching onto a underhit back pass to score. The second half started with Quernmore full of confidence after a good first half, but Lancaster scored again in the 54th minute. Following that, legs and minds began to tire for Quernmore which led to Lancaster grabbing a goal on the break in the 71st minute. Lancaster completed their scoring in the 80th minute, the match ending 5 – 1.

Wray had their first game of the season, with a home game against Preston City Mission. Wray made a fantastic start, scoring twice within the first 10 minutes of the game, from Matt Dawson and then on his debut, James Lawson grabbed a debut goal in the 10th minute. Preston City Mission got one back in the 34th minute, with Gabriel Popinciuc getting it for them. James Lawson then continued his great debut for Wray, getting his second, and Wray’s third of the game in the 74th minute. Finally, in the 90th minute, another debutante for Wray, Phil Talbot, grabbed his debut goal for them.
