The 27th September saw our third round of fixtures in the 2017-18 season. In the early games Carnforth went from 2-0 down to 3-2 up and eventually drew 3-3 to gain their first point of the season against Real VVV. A very strong Crown Lane won 12-0 against Chipping in a game where the score didnt reflect the improvements that Chipping are making this year. In the late games, Capernwray Students who had only just arrived and met each other for the first time in the last week, were unfortunate to come up against a free scoring Ingleton team who racked up a score of 20-1. The students showed enough to suggest that they will soon get some points on the board. In the other late game Galgate managed to claw back 3 goals late on in the game to draw 5-5 with Capernwray Staff. At 9pm we welcomed Oliver Jackson from near Penrith, who shared a powerful testimony of the change that Jesus has brought about in his life and challenged us with some of Jesus’ words from Matthew 7 vs 21-23:
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Results:
Carnforth 3 – 3 Real VVV
Crown Lane 12 – 0 Chipping
