The fourth round of fixtures took place this weekend, with all 8 teams in action and plenty of goals scored in the process!

First up was Great Ecc who took on Fulwood at Moor Park. Great Ecc dominated the game, on top throughout and the result never looked in doubt for them. Sam Hogarth opened the scoring in the 27th minute, to compound Great Ecc’s domination. Five minutes later, Toby Parker doubled their lead. Substitute Sam Kelsall added a third in the 50th minute, putting the result beyond doubt five minutes into the second half. To complete the rout, Jonny Leech scored his first goal for Great Ecc, netting in the 85th minute.

Lancaster continued their good start to the season getting another win against a hard to break down Moorlands, making it their fourth win in four. Lancaster started the scoring in this match, with Michael White opening the scoring from outside the box, albeit with a slight deflection. Lancaster doubled their lead, with Steven Richardson scoring a fantastic 40 yard lob in the 39th minute. Moorlands, however, continued to work hard and got their reward in the 44th minute, through Chris Dent, latching onto a flick on from a free kick. However, Moorlands comeback was to be put down by Lancaster, winning and scoring a penalty – converted by Martin Lewis. Lancaster scored the final goal of the afternoon, with a simple finish by Damian Melody. Chris Dent netted his second goal of the day in the 81st minute, meaning the game finished 4 -2 to Lancaster.

Wray, playing their second game of the season, took on a Loko side looking for their first win of the season. Loko made a fast start, netting in the 8th minute through Tom Atkinson. Wray then pegged Loko back, Mark Ellershaw, grabbing his first goal of the season. In the 41st minute, Wray were awarded a penalty, James Lawson converting in the 41st minute, his third goal in two games. However, Loko were not to be denied a draw and they leveled the scores up in the 56th minute, Glen Hanmer scoring. But, Loko’s search for points was ended at the death, Nick Taplin netting in the 87th minute and getting Wray their second win in as many games.

Finally, Quernmore faced Preston City Mission. Both teams were looking to get some points on the board, and at least one of the two teams’ losing streak had to end. It was Quernmore who were able to end their loosing streak, running out 11 – 1 winners. Quernmore were dangerous from the off, looking to grab an early goal and were able to do that from the penalty spot in the 9th minute through Tom Kelsall and then five minutes later, Quernmore doubled their lead through Jordan Yates. However, PCM, working hard on the counter attack, were able to score in the 22nd minute, a cross landing at the feet of Mihael Tapciuc, who calmly slotted into the bottom corner of the net. A flurry of goals followed for Quernmore before half time, scoring five goals, in the 34th, 36th, 39th, 41st an 44th minute, the pick of the goals from Matt Sowerby, who’s cross found the top corner, looping over the goalkeeper. 7-1 at half time. Quernmore, who looked very dangerous every time they attacked, were able to add another to their tally, scoring in the 50th minute and then again in the 60th minute. James Heron scored his first goal for Quernmore in the 76th minute, a good header after a clever run from John Gorst left him unmarked from the corner. Finally, in the 88th minute, Quernmore netted their final goal, an unfortunate own goal from the PCM player, try to clear another corner. An excellent result for Quernmore.
