The first weekend of March and over 55 gathered for our SportReach weekend away at Knock Christian centre, Appleby. Quite a bit of snow around the Lancaster area on the Friday morning made some of us wonder how it would be at Knock and wellies and sledges were added to the packing! However, Knock was snow free apart from the hills and the weather over the weekend, despite being cold, was fine and bright. With friends travelling from as far south as Ashford and as far north as Stonehaven, and with an age range from 1 – 60 ish. 🙂 It all made for a great weekend of fellowship and fun in a family environment.
Graham Emerson, who travelled all of 6 miles to be with us, (He lives just up the road!!) spoke excellently at all of our teaching sessions as we looked at the ‘threes’ contained in scripture. Body, Soul and Spirit. Teaching sessions with Graham, praise and worship times led by Sue and the team, excellent food provided by Richard, Helen, Sam, Ju and Ezra, football and netball at Kirkby Stephen, knitting classes led by some of the ladies, local walks and a games evening with ‘Sherpa’ Burr, we lacked nothing. Our bodies were nourished and exercised, our souls were encouraged and our spirits blessed. Praise the Lord.
Thanks to all who came along and contributed to what was a great weekend.
Roll on weekend away 2017 🙂
