SportsReach football league results – 4th November

This weekend 3 SportsReach football league games went ahead, with Lancaster facing a in form Wray team looking to make it 5 wins out of 5, Preston City Mission faced Fulwood looking for their first win of the season and Moorlands travelled to Loko.

Five star Wray make it 5 out of 5

Lancaster 0 – 5 Wray

// Jake Fawcett 7,49, George Whitaker 16, 31, Stephen Harrison 37

Wray made it five wins out of five with another excellent performance against Lancaster, continuing their high scoring run of wins. It is now becoming a regular occurance with Wray that they will grab a goal within the opening 10 minutes of a game and today it was Jake Fawcett’s turn to grab the games first goal in the 7th minute, finishing brilliantly one-on-one after good work by James Lawson. Just 10 minutes later and it was 2-0 to the visitors after George Ibbetson closed down a Lancaster defender before unleashing a superb driven pass to George Whitaker who controlled excellently in the box before firing low past the Lancaster ‘keeper. Lancaster continued to work hard, pushing forward, having some chances, only for them to be turned away by Wray ‘keeper Wayne Hutchinson. Wray got their third of the game, shortly after the half hour mark, George Whitaker dinking the ball over the on-rushing ‘keeper after a fabulous ball over the top from Jake Fawcett. Full of confidence the chances didn’t stop there for the visitors and just seven minutes before half-time, captain Stephen Harrison ran onto a through ball, showed great composure to take it around the Lancaster goalkeeper and slotted it into an empty net. Lancaster came out after the break hoping to find a way back into the game but it was Wray who would get the game’s fifth and final goal. Following good pressure by the Wray attack, the ball fell at the feet of Jake Fawcett who made no mistake, hitting it low and hard past the ‘keeper. Lancaster tried in vain to get on the scoresheet themselves and despite a hatful of chances for Wray in the second-half, it finished 5-0 to the visitors at Salt Ayre. An excellent result for Wray, who just cannot seem to be stopped at the moment.

Another big win for Loko

Loko 9 – 1 Moorlands

Rob Edmondson 1, Adam Edmondson 44, Ryan Wood 46, 48, Tom Atkinson 52, 58, Pete Cowell 61, Own Goal 67, Graeme Beaumont 86 // Chris Dent 15

Loko made it two big wins in a row on Saturday, with a convincing win over Moorlands. The game had barely started before Rod Edmondson scored for Loko, in the 1st minute. However, it was back level 15 minutes later, league top scorer Chris Dent netting for Moorlands. Game on. Loko were not to be denied and were back in front just after half time, Adam Edmondson scoring in the 44th minute. Straight after half time, just like in the first half, Loko had scored within a minute of the restart, Ryan Wood netting in the 46th and then 48th minute. Loko grabbed another two goals through Tom Atkinson in the 52nd and 58th minute, making it 6 -1 to Loko. A rampant Loko grabbed their fifth in fifteen minutes in the 61st minute, Pete Cowell scoring. Loko’s eighth then arrived in the 69th minute through an own goal. There was a chance to catch your breath for twenty minutes after the eighth Loko goal before Graeme Beaumont finished off the scoring in the 86th minute. An excellent win for Loko.

Fulwood squeeze past spirited Preston

Preston City Mission 2 – 3 Fulwood

19, 75 // Jordan Bate 5, Danny Garratt 67 (pen), Adam McLoughlin 88

Preston City Mission gave Fulwood a real hard game on Saturday, Fulwood not making sure of the win until the 88th minute. Fulwood flew out of the blocks and continuing the theme of early goals this week, notched through Jordan Bate in the fifth minute. However, Preston were not going to let Fulwood have it all their own way and indeed drew back level in the 19th minute. 1 -1 at half time. It was not until the 67th minute did this game then come to life. Danny Garratt converted from the penalty spot to make it 2-1 to Fulwood before Preston drew level again in the 75th minute. However, it was Fulwood who were to be victorious, Adam McLoughlin netting in the 88th minute to grab all three points for Fulwood.
