Despite the ice and snow, three out of four Champions Cup Quarter-Final ties were played on schedule with just Wray vs Great Ecc postponed until the following week.
Lancaster kept up their excellent form with a 5-1 win over Loko and once again, the goals were shared around the team with five different scorers. A hat-trick from Nathanael Richardson was the highlight of Longton’s 10-3 win over Fleetwood; a game which ended in a mini blizzard. It was also memorable for Longton’s 16-year-old right-back Josh Proudfoot who scored his first ever goal for the team, opening the scoring after five minutes. In the remaining Quarter-Final, Quernmore edged out Garstang in a tight contest which was 2-2 at half-time and only in stoppage time did the home side seal the win to eventually triumph 4-2.
Three matches played, three home wins… Lancaster, Longton and Quernmore move into the Champions Cup Semi-Finals whilst Loko, Fleetwood and Garstang will now participate in the League Cup Quarter-Finals.
