At lunchtime on Wednesday the 11th October it looked like we were in for a washout, but thankfully the rain stopped at 4pm which was a real answer to prayer.
In the early games Young Guns got their first win of the season against Chipping, after having a tough run of fixtures in the first few weeks. In the other game, it was first against second in an extremely close game. Crown Lane were 4-2 up at half time and in control. They managed to hold onto this lead until about 8 minutes from the end, when Ingleton scored 3 quick goals and it looked like Crown Lane had no answer, but then in the last couple of minutes Crown Lane scored twice to win by the narrowest of margins and take an early advantage in the title race. In the late games Carnforth also won their first game of the season against Capernwray Students and Wray came from behind to beat Capernwray Staff and hold onto their 100% record.
Mick Ellershaw shared half way through the evening about the heart of the Gospel message and what Jesus has done for each of us.
