After having to call off last weeks fixtures due to storm Caroline, it was great to be back on a cold Wednesday night in Carnforth.
In the early games Chipping came back from 3 – 2 down at half time, to beat Ingleton 6 – 5 and to record their third win in a row after being bottom of the table a month ago. Real VVV who started in fourth were up against Galgate who started the night in third place. Real VVV started very quickly scoring 2 goals within half a minute. They continued to play well and be clinical in the first half and took a 7 – 3 lead into half time. In the second half Galgate started to dictate the game and pulled a couple of goals back and were really pushing, but with 5 minutes remaining Nathan Park scored 2 goals for VVV to take the sting out of the game. The win moves VVV up to third.
At 9pm Daniele Giannoccaro shared an honest and powerful testimony of what God has done in his life, especially in the last 2 years. Dan encouraged the lads that ‘today is the day of salvation’ and that they needed to follow Jesus today and not put the decision off, as he had done at times in the past.
In the late games Crown Lane who were missing some key players came up against Young Guns, who were strengthened with Joel Law playing for the first time this season. Crown Lane with some new faces, struggled to get into their usual high tempo game and it was Young Guns who took the game to them winning both halves 3 – 1. Wray playing at the same time as Crown Lane, were looking to take advantage if Crown Lane slipped up. Wray started brightly and were soon 3 goals up. As the first half went on, Capernwray started to create a few opportunities and managed to score 1 to get back into the game. It was short lived though as Wray scored straight away and ended up winning comfortably which means that they are now top of the table.
Results:
Real VVV 9 – 6 Galgate
Chipping 6 – 5 Ingleton
Capernwray Students 1 – 9 Wray
Young Guns 6 – 2 Crown Lane
