Last Monday and Tuesday evening Will Marsden joined with Tim Slater and his new ministry of football outreach in the Corby area.
18 players gathered on the 3G pitch on Monday evening and listened intently as Will encouraged them to take time in their busy lives to consider God – “Be still and Know that I am God” Ps 46:10 Will went on to share 3 reasons which demonstrate to him that God exists – Creation; Conscience; Changed lives.
12 players came along on the Tuesday evening, this time the football took place indoors and again they listened well as Will shared using optical illusions, that we sometimes need to see things from a different perspective to see the truth and stressed the importance of seeking, finding and knowing the truth. The bible tells us – “Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.” John 14:6
It was great to be see the work Tim is doing and to be able to encourage him in this and also to be able to share with these guys and to see some of them asking questions and taking literature.
