SPORTSREACH NETBALL LEAGUE 2018/19

The seasons penultimate week!  It seems to have gone so quickly with the last games being played Wednesday 6th and the League awards meal on Saturday the 9th.  The top of divisions 1 and 3 are still to be decided and could go right down to the last games to be played!  A few teams fitness levels were tested this last week with 5 teams playing two games back to back. Royals, chasing down TopCats picked up a full 6 points overcoming Thunder 41 – 14 and Stingwrays 37 – 21.  Stingwrays themselves had a very good night defeating WildCats in their first game 24 – 17  before picking up a point in their game v Royals. TopCats overcame their Chipping rivals MereCats to stay top with a 4 point gap to Royals.  Both Royals and TopCats have 2 games this week, the 1st game v Thunder and MereCats respectively before playing each other in the last game of the season which could decide the title depending on the results of the earlier games. MereCats went from playing one Chipping team, TopCats to then play the other Chipping team, WildCats who picked themselves up from losing to Stingwrays to overturn the MereCats 28 – 6. The only division 2 game saw Amazons win against Panthers to finish 4th a point behind their Preston team mates Swallows.  In division 3 Lions kept their title hopes alive with a hard fought win over STY:LE but then came up against a Babybelles team also pushing for the top. Babybelles managed to pick up a well earned victory and with Roses and Lions having now finished all their games, Babybelles will be looking to finish with a win over Halos to move to 30 points with Roses which would then bring it down to goal difference to decide the top spot!  A win by 30 clear goals would be enough for Babybelles to take division 3.

Again it was great to see the circles gather at the halfway point and for each group to have someone share the good news about Jesus.  One lady shared about trust and that no matter how trustworthy we might find a person to be, at some point they will let us down, but Jesus has and never will let us down.  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
